What: Echinacea Pow Wow Wild Berry is a coneflower with very unique qualities, which is why this plant won the 2010 All American Selection Award. Its interesting deep rose to purple color variation is just one of its many attributes. These vivid colors do not fade in the summer sun and it blooms continually without deadheading. Most importantly, this echinacea does not fall over. Incredibly easy to grow, it does not mind poor soil, drought or heat and is a virtual buffet for songbirds.
Sun or shade: This coneflower requires full sun to achieve its maximum color range.
Size: Pow Wow Wild Berry grows 20-24 inches tall and is approximately 12 inches wide.
See it: In the All American Selection Garden within the WSU Snohomish County Master Gardener Demonstration Garden at Jennings Memorial Park, 6915 Armar Road, Marysville.
