TACOMA — A Pierce County Sheriff’s office spokesman says two deputies shot and wounded a knife-wielding man late Friday night.
Spokesman Jerry Bates says four deputies were responding to reports of a suicidal man at an apartment complex. They found the 32-year-old man with a knife and a screw driver in his hands.
Bates told The Tacoma News Tribune that the two of the deputies opened fired and wounded the man. Bates describes the wounds as not life-threatening. The man was taken to St. Joseph Medical Center.
