Published:
Megan Dedrick of Everett failed to make the 20-member United States women's national baseball team when the squad was announced after this week's three-day tryout camp at Pepperdine University in Malibu, Calif.
Dedrick, who will start her junior year at Everett High School in September and is a two-year starter on the school's varsity baseball team, was one of 39 players attending the tryout.
The only woman from Washington named to the team is Michelle Snyder of Wenatchee, a former softball player at Florida State University.
The U.S. team will continue training at Pepperdine until Thursday and then head to Miyazaki, Japan, for the eight-team World Cup tournament, Sept. 1-7.
