Smokey Point— A Stanwood man was injured early Sunday morning when the motorcycle he was riding was hit by a car.
The 18-year-old was taken to Providence Regional Medical Center, according to Washington State Patrol.
His condition was not immediately available. He was wearing at a helmet when the accident occurred at 12:13 a.m.
The man was riding westbound on Highway 531 a few miles west of Smokey Point when a car in the eastbound lane tried to turn into a driveway. The 2006 Chevrolet Express van hit the motorcycle.
The van’s driver, a 54-year-old Stanwood man was not hurt.
He was booked into Snohomish County Jail for vehicular assault.
Drugs or alcohol could have been involved, according to State Patrol, which is investigating the accident.
