BOISE — The Everett AquaSox were shut out for the second straight game Monday night, falling 3-0 to the Boise Hawks in a Northwest League game.
Hawks starter Trevor Clifton picked up his fourth win of the season, allowing six hits while striking out three in seven innings.
After scoring in the bottom of the first, Boise tacked on two more runs in the fourth inning. Danny Canela and Jesse Hodges led off the inning with back-to-back doubles to give Boise a 2-0 lead. Two outs later an error by Everett right fielder Corey Simpson allowed another run to score, increasing the Hawks’ lead to 3-0..
Everett starter Jeffeson Medina pitched five innings, allowing three runs, two earned, on four hits while striking out two.
The Aquasox had more hits than Boise — 8-5 — but the Sox were 0-for-5 with runners in scoring position.
Everett has been shut out seven times this season.
