Weekend fun: Fair, build a boat, Jetty Island and more

On the ice: Get a sneak peek at the Everett Silvertips, who are in action for preseason games Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Comcast Arena. You can make it a full weekend of hockey if you want — there are six teams playing three games each day in Everett. Go here for tickets and schedules.

Bumbershoot: The annual giant music and arts festival is Saturday to Monday in Seattle. Check out the highlights in our story here.

Jetty Island: This is the last weekend for the ferry to Jetty Island. The ferry will run through Labor Day. Get more info in our earlier story here.

Art: A free art festival is on Friday at Rosehill Community Center in Mukilteo. The festival includes a juried exhibition, artist demonstrations, live entertainment, activities for children and festival food. Get more info in our story here.

Get outside: Want to go camping, but don’t have reservations? Here are some last-minute ideas, as well as some suggestions for hikes.

More outdoor fun: On Saturday and Sunday, check out the fun at the Center for Wooden Boats at Cama Beach. From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., there will be toy boat building, crabbing and fishing demos, sailboat racing and much more. From 6 to 8 p.m. there’s a barbecue. They’ll grill the meat, you bring a side. Look up: Friday to Sunday is Vintage Aircraft Weekend at the Historic Flight Foundation at Paine Field. There will be flight demonstrations and chances to chat with the pilots. Get more info here.
