Seahawks announce roster cuts

The Seahawks announced their roster cuts, a list which did not contain any big surprises.

Terminated veteran contracts: CB Phillip Adams, T Eric Winston.

Waived: TE RaShaun Allen, CB Akeem Auguste, RB Demitrius Bronson, WR Arceto Clark, QB B.J. Daniels, G Caylin Hauptmann, T Nate Isles, C Patrick Lewis, WR Chris Matthews, DE Benson Mayowa, S Terrance Parks, TE Morrell Presley, QB Terrelle Pyor, DT Andru Pulu, FB Kiero Small, DT Jimmy Staten, S Steven Terrell, LB Korey Toomer, WR Bryan Walters, RB Spencer Ware.

No big stunners here, though many thought Ware would make the team, Hauptman too. Hauptmann likely was beat out by Bellevue HS grad Stephen Schilling, another interior lineman. With Ware cut, the Seahawk are going with only three running backs and a fullback.

Walters was the receiver on the bubble who didn’t make it, but both Ricardo Lockette and Phil Bates did. Rookie Kevin Norwood, who is recovering from foot surgery, also made the cut, which means the Seahawks currently have seven receivers on the roster.

Linebacker Bruce Irvin, who is recovering from hip surgery, is on the 53 man roster and not the PUP list, which means even if he isn’t back for Week 1, he should be back soon.

So for now, here is the 53-man roster, though there is a good chance that will change between now and the season opener.

QB: Russell Wilson, Tarvaris Jackson

RB/FB: Marshawn Lynch, Robert Turbin, Christine Michael, Derrick Coleman

WR: Percy Harvin, Doug Baldwin, Jermaine Kearse, Paul Richardson, Kevin Norwood, Ricardo Lockette, Phil Bates

TE: Zach Miller, Luke Willson, Cooper Helfet

OL: Russell Okung, James Carpenter, Max Unger, JR Sweezy, Justin Britt, Alvin Bailey, Lemuel Jeanpierre, Garry Gilliam, Stephen Schilling

DL: Cliff Avril, Michael Bennett, Brandon Mebane, Tony McDaniel, Kevin Williams, O’Brien Schofield, Cassius Mash, Greg Scruggs, Jordan Hill

LB: Bobby Wagner, KJ Wright, Bruce Irvin, Malcolm Smith, Mike Morgan, Brock Coyle, Kevin Pierre-Louis

CB: Richard Sherman, Byron Maxwell, Jeremy Lane, Tharold Simon, Marcus Burley (acquired Saturday in trade with Indianapolis for 2015 sixth-round pick).

S: Earl Thomas, Kam Chancellor, Jeron Johnson, DeShawn Shead

Specialists: P John Ryan, K Stephen Hauschka, LS Clint Gresham
