The Lewis County sheriff’s office says he and a friend were jumping off a 30-foot cliff into the water Tuesday. The friend heard a splash, but when he turned around he couldn’t see the man. He searched for an hour before calling 911.
County and fire district emergency responders searched until dark and resumed the search Wednesday.
The sheriff’s office says the water is 62 degrees at the search location and more than 100 feet deep.
