I just read a survey saying that 92 percent of our citizens think the government should ban smoking. I have to tell you something, I am a smoker and I wish the government would ban it; it would make quitting so much easier. My father died from smoking and you would think that would have stopped me, but it didn’t. I am a heroin survivor. I have to say quitting the use of heroin was easier than quitting smoking. If it were illegal, I would not have access to it other than illegal measures and I wouldn’t go there. I would just accept it and quit! Our government is so hypocritical. The war on drugs is b.s. because the two most death- and disease-causing drugs are as legal as bread and that proves their agenda.
The tobacco coalition supports our country. Most governmental officials who live in the East and South have deep family ties to the growing and importing of tobacco. (Al Gore is the first to come to mind; his family got their millions growing tobacco.) It bothers me every time I hear someone calling marijuana “a gateway drug.” My first “gateway” introduction to drug use was stealing my folks’ cigarettes and drinking their booze. I want this horrible, toxic, poisonous drug out of my country. I would be cranky for a little bit, but I would quit smoking.
They keep making more and more substitute smoking devices and more drugs to help us stop when all they have to do is make it illegal, burn the tobacco fields and stop this hypocrisy and insanity. Yes, some tobacco growing families would be out of work but they could grow soy or corn and be right back in business. I am pleading with my government to help stop the death and disease of our citizens and ban smoking!
