Scott Paper Co.’s new Forestry Study Trail off Getchell Road was dedicated yesterday as part of the firm’s participation in the annual Business-Education Day for staff members of the Everett schools. Kurt Minnich, project forester, was assisted in planting a tree by View Ridge kindergartner Brad Maples and Washington second-grader Beth Clark.
Also part of the Business-Education Day was a visit to Western Gear Corp. A photo showed Warren Hewett, sixth-grade teacher at Longfellow School on the inside looking out of a 9 ½-foot high tire.

Mike Studley stretched to pain the underside of a girder on the Marysville water tower. He said he used climb trees a lot when a kid, explaining his lack of fear on the 150-foot tower. The new color was nearly the same as the old — a light blue.
Michelle Olsen was dressed for her singing competition and held Varro, her English angora rabbit. The 17-year-old had done about everything at the Evergreen State Fair. She spent her summers at the Monroe fair training dogs, raising rabbits, and judging. The Snohomish High School senior had a perfect grade point average.
