Weekend to-do list: Party by the lighthouse, see classic cars

Party hearty: Mukilteo’s biggest party of the year — the Lighthouse Festival — runs Friday through Sunday on the waterfront. Music, games, arts, crafts, rides and a parade are among the attractions, plus a lot of food. See our story on the festival for more details.

Laugh it up: Comedian Wanda Sykes kicks off her fall tour with a pair of shows at the Tulalip Resort Casino on Friday and Saturday nights. Sykes told The Herald she’s polishing up new material as she prepares for her next comedy special. Doors open at 7 p.m. each night.

Ogle old cars: The streets of downtown Edmonds will be filled with more than 300 classic cars for Sunday’s Edmonds Classic Car Show. There’s a beer garden for adults and free Pinewood Derby car kits for kids. The show runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., branching out from the corner of 5th Avenue and Main Street. More info here. Meanwhile, the Wheels on the Waterfront Fall Classic Car Show will showcase classic cars in 22 judged categories on Saturday at the Everett Waterfront Center, 1205 Craftsman Way. That show runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Learn more about it here.

Learn about marijuana: Comcast Arena goes to pot this weekend for Cannabis Cup, a two-day trade expo for the fledgling legal marijuana industry. Just like most trade shows, there’ll be vendor booths and seminars. Unlike most trade shows, there will be a marijuana smoking area for those 18 and up. No selling or distribution is allowed. Doors open at noon Saturday and Sunday. Find out more here.

Free concert: Singer/songwriter Aline Vida will perform her blend of rock and soul at the Everett Public Library. Vida is an accomplished musician who has performed across America and, most recently, Sweden. She recently relocated to Everett and is putting the finishing touches on a new album. Hear her perform for free at 2 p.m. Sunday in the library auditorium, 2702 Hoyt Ave.

“Old-school” rock: Tayla Lynn, the granddaughter of music legend Loretta Lynn, will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Historic Everett Theatre, 2911 Colby Ave. Lynn’s show includes a tribute to her grandmother and her own country and rock ‘n’ roll songs. Tickets range from $10 to $25. Read more in our story about Lynn.

Revisit the past: Creedence Clearwater Revisited wraps up the Tulalip Summer Concert Series with a show at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Tulalip Amphitheatre. It’s not the Revival anymore, but the band still plays its greatest hits, such as “Down on the Corner” and “Have You Seen the Rain.” Tickets are $30 to $70. See our story for more.

For dog lovers: Dog Day Afternoon is Saturday at Camano Island State Park. Join fellow dogs and their people to play and learn about topics such as microchipping and dog-handling. Learn more here.
