LACEY — Police fatally shot a man who fired a gun inside his family home, prompting his wife to lock herself in a bathroom with three young children.
Authorities responded to a call for domestic violence around 10:30 p.m. Monday. A woman reported her husband was firing his gun inside the home and “going crazy.”
The Tacoma News Tribune reported officers found the 26-year-old man in the street. Officers say he fired the gun again and ran behind a building.
When the man returned to the street, still showing the gun, an officer shot him with a rifle.
The man was transported to Providence St. Peter Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Further details were not immediately available.
