The Seahawks and Broncos are about an hour from kicking off one of the most anticipated regular-season games of 2014 and the Seahawks will be playing without linebacker/pass rusher Bruce Irvin, who is inactive. Irvin came into the game listed as questionable because of a rib injury suffered in Wednesday’s practice. With Irvin out, that will mean more playing time for O’Brien Schofield and perhaps Cassius Marsh as well.
Other than CB Tharold Simon, who is recovering from knee surgery, Irvin is the only injury-related inactive for the Seahawks. RB Christine Michael practiced this week after being out the first two with a hamstring injury, but he’s a healthy scratch. So too is rookie WR Kevin Norwood, who is still waiting to make his Seahawks debut. TE Cooper Helfet and rookie linebacker Kevin Pierre-Louis are both active for the first time this season.
The most notable inactive for the Broncos is linebacker Danny Trevathan, the team’s leading tackler last season.
Seahawks inactives: CB Tharold Simon, RB Christine Michael, LB Bruce Irvin, T Andrew McDonald, T Garry Gilliam, WR Kevin Norwood, DE Greg Scruggs.
Broncos inactives: WR Cody Latimer, CB Tony Carter, LB Lerentee McCray, LB Danny Trevathan, G Ben Garland, T Michael Schofield, DT Mitch Unrein.
