EVERETT — Emergency responders plan to practice handling an aircraft accident at Paine Field on Thursday.
More than 20 agencies from across Snohomish County are expected to participate in the federally required exercise, which is held every three years.
The drill is to start at about 10 a.m. and last until noon Thursday on the Alpha taxiway near the airport’s north end.
The event will simulate an airplane accident with about 40 victims suffering from a wide range of injuries, according to a news release from Snohomish County.
Participating agencies include Snohomish County Airport, the Everett Fire Department, several Snohomish County fire districts, the Boeing Fire Department, the Mukilteo Fire Department, the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office, the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office, the Everett Police Department, Community Transit, the Washington State Patrol, emergency dispatchers, Providence Regional Medical Center Everett, Swedish Edmonds and Cascade Valley General Hospital.
