I applaud the Marysville Police Department for the Sept. 18 drug house incident in the evening. They performed what they are trained to do and hopefully this will be a house of the past. Well done, team!
The drug houses are being constantly called into 911, and though it seems like it takes a lot to get these undesirables out of the neighborhoods, it does work. The Marysville task force puts up with a lot from these people. I spoke to one neighbor in the area where this took place last night and he mentioned how many times he witnessed and called in the use of heroin at this location.
We do not have to continue watching the “5-Minute Friends,” come and go thinking that nothing is being done. It takes time. I personally know of a drug house across from an elementary school that we have been calling in for three years at least. The parents are still living and own the house, but the adult kids and their spouses continue to live there and sell drugs. The drug house on 116th continues to do business. The Winco surrounding areas in the woods are populated with homeless and druggies. Checkout the statistics with crimemapping.com. The same locations daily!
The laws need to be changed and more community involvement in reporting these activities. In addition, the laws need to be more stringent with the multiple calls to the same locations.
We need everyone to get on board and report the drugs and thefts of property. Get a Block Watch started. Thanks again, Marysville PD, for doing a daily good job.
