EVERETT — On Sunday Carson Stadnyk had the most productive night of his Everett Silvertips career.
On Monday he was recognized by the WHL for his endeavors.
Stadnyk was honored by the league as he was named the WHL Player of the Week for Sept. 22-28.
Stadnyk, a 19-year-old winger from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, had three goals and four assists as Everett swept a pair of road games against the Portland Winterhawks over the weekend. He had two goals and an assist in Everett’s 5-1 victory Saturday, then had a goal and three assists in the Tips’ 6-4 victory Sunday. His four points Sunday were the most Stadnyk has had in a single game during his three-year WHL career.
Stadnyk is coming off a productive sophomore campaign in which he had 23 goals and 15 assists. His 23 goals are the most of any returning Everett player. His seven points through the first two weeks of this season puts him one off the league lead of eight, shared by three players.
