The Seahawks will begin preparing for the Carolina Panthers on Wednesday, but first one more look back at last week’s big news, the trade that sent Percy Harvin to the New York Jets. Seahawks coach Pete Carroll had some interesting stuff to say about that deal on Monday, including that he knew all along that bringing Harvin to Seattle would be risky.
Harvin also talked to reporters after his first practice with the Jets, saying he too was surprised by the trade, but that he has no hard feelings towards Seattle.
Also in today’s Herald, a notebook leading off with Seattle’s injury situation.
From NFL.com’s Mike Silver, a good breakdown of the Rams’ special teams trickery that made a huge difference in the game. On the fake punt, that call was so bold, I’m not even sure Pete Carroll is that upset that his team didn’t defend it better. I mean really, who even tries that when failure would have meant giving the Seahawks the ball in field goal position down by two points?
Peter King of TheMMQB.com leads off his Tuesday mailbag with a look at the fumble late in the game and why it wasn’t reviewed. You can read Carroll’s take on that play in the notebook above.
Just for fun, former Seahawks backup quarterback Matt Flynn had a good time watching Pearl Jam in Milwaukee on Monday night. Eddie Vedder even put on a Flynn jersey at one point during the concert. It’s good to see two Seattle icons enjoying a moment together.
And finally, this video with Earl Thomas is either hilarious, really weird, or some combination of the two.
