MARYSVILLE — No charges will be filed against a teaching assistant who locked a special needs student in a closet in April 2013 at Marshall Elementary in Marysville.
The child’s teacher and a paraeducator were placed on leave by the Marysville School District after the incident, and while the teacher eventually returned to work, the Marysville Police Department opened an investigation against the paraeducator.
In April, detectives forwarded the case to the city’s prosecutor for review of a possible charge of fourth degree assault, a misdemeanor. The prosecutor closed the case with no charges filed.
