ARLINGTON — Arlington clinched a playoff spot with its 3-0 shutout victory over second-place Shorewood Tuesday night, and with the victory the Eagles know every game means a lot coming down the stretch.
“You want to be playing well going into the playoffs,” Arlington head coach Nathan Davis said about the team’s desire to seed well in the Wesco playoff picture.
The Eagles have been taking it to their opponents as of late. Arlington has scored a combined eight goals in their last two games, and it’s partially because of midfielder Olivia Larson and forward Bre Morren, who combined for all three goals and an assist against the Thunderbirds.
“Olivia (Larson) had an excellent game. She distributes the ball well and also finishes,” Davis said about the sophomore.
“Bre (Morren) is relentless,” he added.
Having two high quality Wesco strikers does get the attention of other teams, according to Davis.
“It makes us dangerous. It puts a target on us. Everyone knows who we are.”
Kat Sanchez recorded the shutout for Arlington.
