Halloween is upon us, which means it’s time for some driving safety reminders.
The AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety notes that a pedestrian is more than twice as likely to be killed if they are hit by a car traveling at 35 mph compared to 25 mph. So slow down.
Other reminders:
- Watch for trick-or-treaters who may cross mid-block or between cars
- Avoid taking driving short-cuts through neighborhoods
- Drive sober
For trick-or-treaters:
- Trick-or-treat in a group
- Choose costumes that don’t obstruct vision and consider adding reflective tape
- Plan your route and remind children how to safely cross a street
- Buckle up
