McKesson Drug Company to hold food drive in Mill Creek
McKesson Drug Company will be holding their Bi Annual Food Drive from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Thomas Lake Albertson’s, 3322 132nd Street SE in Mill Creek. Donations will benefit Volunteers of America Food Bank as they get ready for a busy Holiday Season.
Scrub City collecting Halloween candy for troops
Everett’s Scrub City, which provides scrubs for health care professionals, is participating in Operation Gratitude by collecting left-over Halloween candy and sending it to the troops overseas for their Holiday packages. OperationGratitude will also accept written letters or picture drawings for the troops. Donations should be turned into Scrub City at 7430 Evergreen Way, Suite 102, Everett by Nov. 15.
State agency awarded for helping manufactured home owners
The Washington State Housing Finance Commission has been nationally recognized for a partnership that empowers residents to become owners of their manufactured-home communities. Five manufactured-home communities in Washington have joined together to form cooperatives and purchase the land beneath their homes. One of those communities is Whispering Pines on Whidbey Island.
Canyon Creek in Monroe recognized
Monroe-based Canyon Creek Cabinet Company has been selected for the 2014 Best of Monroe Award in the Cabinetmakers category by the Monroe Award Program. Winners are determined based on information gathered internally by the Monroe Award Program from trade groups, professional associations, and from data provided by third parties.
Diversity fair planned at Cascadia College in Bothell
A free Diversity Career Fair for community and technical colleges is 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Nov. 15 at Cascadia College’s Mobius Hall located at 18345 Campus Way NE, Bothell. Community and technical colleges in the Puget Sound region are actively seeking diverse candidates for jobs in instruction, counseling, library services, and administration.
