EVERETT — An Everett man was arrested Wednesday night after he tried to car-jack an undercover police car while running from other officers.
The man, 33, first ran from police outside an Everett motel and then onto the northbound lanes of I-5. The attempted carjacking happened near the Everett mall.
The man was arrested about 10:30 p.m., and detectives reportedly found heroin and methamphetamine in his car.
Investigators say the same man fled police Sunday, jumping out the second-story window of an Arlington hotel. Officers had been responding to a noise complaint.
The suspect had several warrants for arrest related to drug trafficking, police said.
In all, officers seized five pounds of drugs — three pounds of meth, a pound of heroin and a pound of marijuana — from the man’s car and his Arlington hotel room, city spokeswoman Kristin Banfield said.
He was booked into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of resisting arrest and drug offenses.
The case was investigated by Everett and Arlington police and the Snohomish Regional Drug and Gang Task Force.
