Marshawn Lynch found out Wednesday that the NFL is fining him $100,000 for violating the league’s media policy, so perhaps in an effort to strengthen a potential appeal, Lynch did spend a good chunk of time with reporters before practice. He did not, however, say much of anything about football, instead deciding to answer nearly every question with a comment on his shoes or his favorite hip-hop artists (Lil Boosie and Lil June, to name a couple).
It was amusing, if not very informative.
Lynch did note that it was odd how so many people are making a big deal about him and Ricardo Lockette returning a fan’s lost wallet in Marysville yesterday, saying he didn’t understand all the attention, “About me giving something back that belonged to him. It would have been a story if I’d kept the (expletive).”
Another perhaps telling line came from Lynch when, after talking so much about his shoes, he was asked if he had any input on designing them.
“In this league you really don’t have a lot of input on nothing,” he said. “Just your play.”
Other than that, it was pretty much all answers about his shoes or music, no matter the question.
