SNOHOMISH — Minor flooding along Snohomish County rivers on Wednesday caused road closures and washed out a recreational trail.
More rain is expected through Friday. That will come on top of about 4 inches that had already fallen by Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service in Seattle.
A portion of the recreational Whitehorse Trail in Oso washed out Wednesday because of flooding on Deer Creek, a North Fork Stillaguamish River tributary. Floodwaters caused road closures on 106th Avenue SE near Monroe, Norman Road in Silvana and Boe Road in Stanwood.
The Snohomish River was a few inches from flood-stage by Wednesday morning and crested around noon. Water rose over the lowlands and low-lying roads between Snohomish and Monroe.
Rain is expected to continue through Friday, with a sunny weekend and another rainy week to follow.
