ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Alaska State Troopers have released the name of a pilot who was among two people injured in a small plane crash on the west side of Cook Inlet.
KTUU says 55-year-old Brad Adams of Soldotna sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries in the crash Thursday across the inlet from Nikiski.
Troopers have not released the name of the only passenger, a 16-year-old boy who sustained minor injuries.
Troopers say Adams was flying a Piper PA-18 Super Cub owned by Alaska West Air, based in Nikiski. According to troopers, the company responded in a helicopter, and the pilot and teen were flown to a Soldotna Hospital.
The 16-year-old boy was treated and released.
The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating and says preliminary information indicates a loss of engine power.
