CENTRALIA — Police are looking for a man who fled from Centralia Municipal Court and drove away as an officer fired a shot Tuesday morning in downtown Centralia.
Police Chief Bob Berg told The Chronicle that the bullet hit the car, but it’s unknown if it hit the suspect, identified as Phillip A. Pinotti, 22, of rural Chehalis.
Pinotti was in court for a hearing when it was discovered he had an outstanding arrest warrant from Chehalis.
Berg said Pinotti bolted from an officer who was trying to put him into handcuffs, ran to the car and drove toward an officer who fired into the vehicle. The Lewis County sheriff’s office is investigating.
Pinotti has previous arrest for drunken driving and negligent driving.
