Port of Everett hires administrative, legal affairs chief
The Port of Everett has hired Steve Kirkelie as chief of administrative and legal affairs. Kirkelie, who is currently the deputy city attorney for Puyallup, starts his new post at the Port on Jan. 5. The position was created to fill the legal role vacated with the promotion of Les Reardanz to executive director/CEO in November.
Volunteers rallied to help Toys for Tots
On Dec. 13, United Way of Snohomish County, Snohomish County Labor Council and volunteers from local unions came together to support the annual Marine Toys for Tots campaign in Everett. In total, 71 union volunteers donated over 300 hours to the drive and over $1,700 in toys for Snohomish County families.
Santa Breakfasts raises $6,000 for YMCA
Anthony’s Seafood Grill announced that more than $6,000 was raised at this year’s annual Santa Breakfast benefit. All of the money from the breakfast was donated to support the Mukilteo Family YMCA. The sold out Santa Breakfasts took place on Dec. 6 and Dec. 13 at Anthony’s Seafood Grill located at Alderwood Mall.
Maltby Cafe’s baked goods to be sold at Mill Creek Town Center
The Filmore Gaming Lounge and Cafe in Mill Creek Town Center, is now selling The Maltby Cafe’s baked goods, including its signature dinner-plate size cinnamon rolls. This arrangement comes shortly after The Maltby Cafe won the KING5 Evening Magazine 2014 Best of Western Washington Best Breakfast award. It has earned this title almost every year since it opened.
