Volunteers to remodel Cocoon House
Snohomish County non-profit Cocoon House will receive remodeling thanks to Lowe’s ATGStores.com All That’s Good Deeds program. More than 30 ATGStores.com volunteers invested time into the project and the company has donated furniture, lighting, ceiling fans, storage and décor that will improve Cocoon House’s ability to serve area youth in need.
Alder BioPharmaceuticals added to NASDAQ biotech index
Bothell’s Alder BioPharmaceuticals, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing monoclonal antibody therapeutics for the treatment of migraine, autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, announced that it has been selected for addition to the NASDAQ Biotechnology Index effective on Dec. 22. Alder BioPharmaceuticals currently has multiple products undergoing clinical trials or testing.
Molina Healthcare helped people in need in south Everett
In an effort to help those in need this holiday season, Molina Healthcare of Washington hosted a free public event on Dec. 17 at the Molina Medical clinic in South Everett distributing free gloves, hats, scarves and books. Molina Healthcare provides managed health care services under the Medicaid and Medicare programs and through the state insurance marketplaces.
Comcast announces higher Internet download speeds
Comcast has increased the Internet download speeds of three service tiers for residential customers in Washington state. The Performance tier now offers speeds up to 50 Mbps, up from 25 Mbps; Blast is now 105 Mbps, up from 50 Mbps; and Extreme 105 has been bumped to 150 Mbps. These improvements come at no additional cost to the customer.
