Crews have begun to prepare the detour routes that will be used during the Broadway Bridge replacement project that begins in January. Drivers should prepare for full closure of Broadway Avenue between Hewitt Avenue and California Street for up to a year while crews demolish the existing 100-foot by 100-foot span over the main railroad tracks and build a new bridge from the foundation up.

Lynnwood to stop accepting new permits Fridays

Effective Jan. 2, due to a significant increase in the number of permits submitted, the City of Lynnwood Permit Center will not be conducting building, electrical, mechanical or plumbing inspections on Fridays. Fire and Public Works inspections will still be conducted as usual. This scheduling change will allow staff to focus on reviewing plans on Fridays and help alleviate the lag time between plan submission and approval. For more information, visit www.ci.lynnwood.wa.us/PermitCenter or call 425-670-5400.
