Online fire inspections
The Arlington Fire Department allows small businesses to conduct their own fire inspections and submit the forms online if they meet certain rules.
Businesses that do not qualify still must have an annual inspection done by city firefighters.

Officer assigned to Snohomish High: Most Snohomish County school districts start classes on Monday, so remember to slow down in school zones.
At Snohomish High School, a school resource officer will be assigned to campus for the first time in years.
The officer is Snohomish County sheriff’s Deputy Charlie Frati. The city of Snohomish is policed by the sheriff’s office through a contract.
Register for Feb. 10 election: The first election of the year will be held Feb. 10, when voters in the Arlington School District decide a measure concerning school bus funding. If you live within the school district’s boundaries, your voter registration must be current, or postmarked by Jan. 12, to participate. If you have never registered to vote in Washington, you can register in person at the Snohomish County Auditor’s Office through Feb. 2 and still participate in the Feb. 10 election.
Mail-in voter registration forms are available at www.vote.wa.gov, local libraries, post offices and the Snohomish County Auditor’s Office.
