SPOKANE — A six-time felon known for a relationship with a deputy prosecutor pleaded guilty Thursday in Spokane to unlawful gun possession.
Thirty-one-year-old Matthew Baumrucker faces at least five years in prison when he is sentenced in May in federal court. He was arrested in March at a Spokane Valley motel room where police found a gun.
The Spokesman-Review reports that at a time when Baumrucker was on the run he received help from Marriya Wright. The deputy prosecutor also visited him frequent in jail, although she was not involved in his case. A search of his cell revealed a photo of Wright — a competitive bodybuilder — in a bikini.
Wright resigned, pleaded guilty to rendering criminal assistance and received a one-year suspended jail sentence.
