SEATTLE — A 21-year-old man who served time for the 2008 death of a Seattle street performer has been sentenced to 18?1/2 years in prison in an unrelated fatal shooting at a Bellevue restaurant on Christmas Eve 2012.
The Seattle Times reported that Ja’Mari Jones was sentenced Friday. He earlier pleaded guilty to second-degree murder for killing DeShawn Milliken, 30, of Renton, at Munchbar, which operated in Bellevue Square.
Jones is one of three teens who pleaded guilty in 2009 to manslaughter in the death of Ed “Tuba Man” McMichael, a street musician who was beaten during a robbery near Seattle Center. He later died from his injuries. Jones was 16 when McMichael died.
