SEATTLE — The father of a 23-year-old video game store clerk who was stabbed in the throat during a robbery in the Seattle suburb of Renton says his daughter is expected to recover and in his words, is “out of the woods.”
KING-TV reported that Mark Schideler says his daughter, Kiersten Schideler, suffered “a deep cut” but the knife missed vital arteries and the trachea. She is still listed in serious condition at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
A 44-year-old man has been arrested in the case. KING says Darren Gayles is expected to appear Friday for a bail hearing.
In the Wednesday morning attack at a GameStop store, police say a robber held a knife to the clerk’s throat and walked her behind the counter. He then slit her throat before taking all the cash in the register.
