The art folks are getting in on the big game.
The Seattle Art Museum and New England’s Clark Art Institute are wagering on Sunday’s Super Bowl matchup between the Seahawks and Patriots. On the line: temporary loans of a pair of masterpiece paintings.
If the Seahawks win, the Clark will loan the SAM Winslow Homer’s “West Point, Prout’s Neck,” one of the greatest works in the museum’s Homer collection.
In the most unlikely event of a Seahawks loss, the SAM will send Albert Bierstadt’s majestic “Puget Sound on the Pacific Coast” (above).
Not that the SAM is counting on that.
