Crews performing maintenance work on the drawbridge between Everett and Marysville will close southbound Highway 529 this weekend and on several future weekends.
The southbound lanes will be closed around the clock starting at 8 p.m. Friday until noon Sunday. The southbound I-5 exit to Highway 529 also will be closed, and drivers heading south should use I-5 during the closures.
Local access to Smith Island will be available via the Fourth Street/Tulalip exit in Marysville.
Additional weekend closures are scheduled for Feb. 6-9, Feb. 13-16 and Feb. 20-23, starting each Friday at 8 p.m. and ending the following Monday at 5 a.m.
The southbound lanes of the highway and the I-5 exit to Highway 529 also will be closed on weeknights through early March, Mondays through Thursdays, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m.
