NBC has renewed five of its drama series for the 2015-16 season.
The network, which is currently in first place with viewers under 50, has ordered new seasons of “The Blacklist,” “Grimm,” “Chicago Fire,” “Chicago P.D.” and “Law &Order: SVU.”
The renewal for “The Blacklist,” one of the top-rated broadcast shows with viewers 18 to 49 years old, comes as no surprise. The drama starring James Spader is in its second season and was given the plum postgame slot following Sunday’s Super Bowl before its move from Mondays to Thursdays this week.
The supernatural drama “Grimm” has been a success story for the network on Friday nights, averaging a live plus same-day audience of about 5 million viewers and getting a big boost once time-shifted viewing is factored in. Set in Portland, Oregon, and produced by Universal Television, the series is in its fourth season.
