EVERETT — Monroe jumped to a double-digit lead after one quarter, added slightly to the margin through the second and third quarters, and then broke the game open in the final period to eliminate Kamiak in a 4A Girls District 1 Tournament loser-out game.
Playing without Jadynn Alexander, who injured an ankle in Saturday’s district tournament loss to Snohomish, the Bearcats got 18 points from older sister Alex Alexander and 11 points from Hannah Drivstuen, including three 3-pointers.
The Knights were led by the eight points apiece of Sarah Payne and Emily Pillman.
