CLARKSTON, Wash. — A Washington state Fish and Wildlife officer says an underweight cougar found hiding in a barn on the west side of Clarkston, Washington, has been euthanized.
The Lewiston Tribune reports that Officer Paul Mosman said the cougar was killed Thursday after a week of reports that a cougar had been seen in and around the southeast Washington city.
Mosman says the cat was about 2 years old. He says it was probably trying to scavenge for food but chose to do so too close to people and their pets and livestock.
