The Washington State Transportation Commission is expected to send a new survey late in the week of Feb. 23 to members of the Voice of Washington State (VOWS) survey panel, asking about “Future Changes to the I-405 HOV Lanes.”
Tolling is planned for the Lynnwood-to-Bellevue corridor by this fall, by converting existing HOV lanes into high-occupancy toll (HOT) lanes. A toll rate proposal would charge from 75 cents to $10. Carpools would need three or more occupants to be exempt.
“The more people we hear from, the more impact your collective voice will have on decision making at the state level,” writes Anne Haley, chairman of the Washington State Transportation Commission, in an email notice.
So if you haven’t already, sign up for the VOWS program at www.VoiceOfWashingtonSurvey.org.
The Transportation Commission uses the survey system throughout the year on a variety of topics. There also are online discussion forums.
