Everett’s Hand in Hand to receive tech help

In partnership with Seattle CityClub, Seattle technology consulting company Wimmer has provided 40 hours of pro bono technology and business consulting expertise for the 2014 Jefferson Award winners from Washington state including Hand in Hand Safe Place of Everett. Founded by Todd McNeal, Hand in Hand is a safe house for children entering the foster care system.

International trade growing more important to state economy

According to Business Roundtable’s research, international trade supports more than 915,000 jobs in Washington, and in 2013, $73.8 billion in goods and $26.5 billion in services were exported from Washington. Washington’s trade-related employment grew 3.3 times faster than total employment from 2004 to 2013. Customers in 212 countries buy Washington-made goods and services.

The free-to-enter NW Washington Sustainability Challenge is scheduled for March 3 at Everett Community College. It is a regional competition for businesses and students designed to inspire innovative sustainability products and provide support for entrepreneurs.
