“Death By Chocolate”: The farce-noir murder mystery by Craig Sodaro through March 8 at Wade James Theater, 950 Main St., Edmonds. Nick Noir, private eye, has fallen on hard times. His last botched case has cost him whatever jobs may have come his way — he may even be forced to fire his devoted secretary. Agatha Christie’s “Spider’s Web”: Red Curtain presents the murder mystery through March 1 at the Red Curtain Arts Center, 1410 Grove St., Marysville. Clarissa, the second wife of Henry Hailsham-Brown, is adept at spinning tales of adventure for their bored diplomatic circle. When a murder takes place in her drawing room she finds live drama much harder to cope with, especially as she suspects the murderer might be her young stepdaughter, Pippa.

“Evil Twin”: The dark comedy by Everett Community College instructor Beth Peterson continues at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 27 through 28 and March 5 through 7 in EvCC’s Baker Hall, room 120, 2000 Tower St. Admission is by donation.

“Around the World in 80 Days”: Village Theatre’s production of Mark Brown’s adaptation of the Jules Verne novel plays March 6 through 29 at the Everett Performing Arts Center. Tickets, $30 to $62, are available by calling 425-257-8600. Join Phileas Fogg on his whistle-stop journey and wildly wacky adventure to satisfy a wager and circumnavigate the world in 80 days. Bandits, a damsel in distress and transportation problems lurk around every corner.

High Schools

“Cinderella”: Arlington High School Drama Department’s production of the Rodgers &Hammerstein musical will be performed at 7 p.m. March 6, 7, 13 and 14, with a 1 p.m. matinee added on March 14, all at Byrnes Performing Arts Center on the high school campus. Director Scott Moberly moves the story from medieval times to the post-industrial era. The production features 47 singers, actors and dancers. Jeff Swanson is the music director. “Other Desert Cities”: Whidbey Island Center for the Arts’ production runs through Feb. 28. The story involves a family with differing political views, a long-held family secret and humility. Rodgers &Hammerstein’s “Carousel”: The 5th Avenue Theatre brings the classic musical to the stage through March 1, at 1308 Fifth Ave., Seattle. “The Vetiginous Thrill of Forsythe”: Pacific Northwest Ballet becomes the first major American dance company to present a program devoted entirely to the work of acclaimed choreographer William Forsythe.
