When: Saturday, 10 a.m.
Where: Everett Community College
Classification: 4A
Records: Snohomish 14-8; Bothell 19-5.
AP Rankings: Both unranked.
How they got to regionals: Snohomish defeated Lake Stevens 57-35 to win the 4A Northwest District championship and clinch the district’s No. 1 seed into regionals. Bothell fell to Inglemoor in the championship game of the Sea-King District tournament, but recovered with a victory over Woodinville to earn the district’s No. 2 spot.
Players to watch: Snohomish—Darian Rielly, Sr., G; Shaylee Harwood, Jr., G; Madeline Smith, Jr., F; Madison Pollock, Jr., F. Bothell—Taya Corosdale, So., F; Keyonna Jones, So., G; Brenda Akoto, Jr., F.
Breakdown: Bothell opened the season with nine consecutive victories before falling to Shorewood in a non-league contest in late December. While Bothell dominated its early non-league opponents, Snohomish struggled. The Panthers lost their first three games and went 1-5 in non-conference play. The Panthers are playing their best basketball of the season at the right time and the frontline of 6-foot-1 juniors Madeline Smith and Madison Pollock figures to give the Cougars all they can handle.
