PORT ANGELES — Public health officials in Clallam County, Washington, have confirmed a fifth case of measles, this time in a man who had been vaccinated against the disease with a vaccine that was used from 1957 to 1971.
Health officials say that vaccine does not offer as much protection as present immunizations.
The Peninsula Daily News reported the latest case involves an adult living in Port Angeles who is related to people previously diagnosed with the disease. Officials say that because the man had quarantined himself, he had no contact with susceptible people while he was contagious.
