It’s a night for scoreboard watching for the Silvertips and their fans.
Portland plays its game in hand when the Winterhawks travel to face Spokane tonight. If Portland wins, the Winterhawks pull into a tie with Everett for first place in the U.S. Division, with both teams having three games remaining. In that scenario Portland would hold the tiebreaker by virtue of having one more win. If Portland loses, then Everett would once again control its own destiny.
Spokane has been no easy opponent for Portland of late. The Chiefs beat the Winterhawks 5-3 at home last Friday, then built a 4-0 lead at Portland on Sunday before the Winterhawks stormed back to win 8-6.
