With Clint Dempsey getting called in by the US national team, the Sounders were expecting to be without their star forward for tonight’s friendly against Club Tijuana and this weekend’s game against Dallas.
Now Seattle might have to go without Dempsey for another game or two after he suffered a hamstring strain training with the national team Monday. Dempsey was with the national team in Zurich preparing for upcoming friendlies against Denmark and Switzerland, but after suffering the injury he will now return to Seattle to rehab the injury, which is expected to sideline him for two to three weeks. Following this weekend’s trip to Dallas, Seattle plays Houston at home on April 4, then at the L.A. Galaxy April 12.
