Our nation is at war. Although there are those who will not admit it, or choose to ignore it.
Conventional bombing, even with the advent of drones, cannot completely defeat a determined force. If air power alone could lead to victory, there would have been no need for so many invasions during World War II and we would have won in Vietnam.
I think we should get completely out or completely in. Completely in means unrestricted warfare employing all the resources: troops on the ground, and bring back the draft. All this minus chemical, biological or radiation. This tacit war is only wasting resources and putting valuable personnel in danger.
Have we not learned anything from history? Never fight a war you do not intend to win!
Personally, I lean toward the option of withdrawing from all of these conflicts. Some societies are not ready or capable of handling democracy. If a society feels it owes more allegiance to its religion or its tribe than to their nation, what’s the use?
