RENTON — The Washington State Patrol says a woman tried to help a man she saw walking on Interstate 405 near Renton, only to get punched for her efforts.
KOMO-TV reported that the woman stopped her car to see if the man needed help Sunday. He was walking in the northbound carpool lane near Exit 7.
Patrol spokesman Chris Webb says that when the woman got out of her vehicle and approached him, he struck her in the face. Troopers arrested the man for felony assault and say he was under the influence of drugs.
The woman needed stitches.
