Musician Jeremy Brown, a guitarist for Scott Weiland &the Wildabouts, died a day before the release of the band’s debut album. He was 34 years old.
Publicist Diana Baron didn’t give a reason for Brown’s death at his home in Venice, California, on Monday. The band’s album, “Blaster,” was released on Tuesday.
Weiland, the former frontman for Stone Temple Pilots, posted a statement on Facebook honoring his friend and collaborator, whom he met in 2008.
“I am in shock right now. … It is a terrible loss that goes beyond words,” Weiland wrote. “He is one of my best friends, a truest friend and one of the most gifted guitar players that I’ve ever known.”
