ARLINGTON — Two Marysville teens have been identified as suspects in the Friday night hit-and-run crash involving an Arlington police sergeant.
Rodrigo Loyola-Vasquez, 19, and Martin A. Castro-Ponce, 18, are being sought by detectives.
The teens allegedly were in a white 2004 Buick LeSabre that ran a red light and struck the sergeant’s patrol car.
It happened about 10:45 p.m. at 172nd Street NE and Smokey Point Boulevard, just east of I-5. One of the city’s busiest intersections, it’s next to the Arlington police satellite office.
The sergeant was taken to the local hospital and released hours later without serious injury.
The Buick, which had significant front-end damage, was found ditched in a nearby parking lot. Police tracked down the owner, who said the teens had permission to drive the car that night.
Detectives allege that witnesses overheard Rodrigo and Martin discussing the crash.
Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or the Arlington Police Department at 360-403-3400.
