“Over the River and Through the Woods”: This comedy by Joe DiPietro is offered by Phoenix Theatre at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday, through May 3, at 9673 Firdale Ave. N., Edmonds. The cast includes J. Woody Lotts, Larry Albert, Micheal McFadden, Susan Conner and Rebekah Dawn. The story is about Nick, a single, Italian-American guy from New Jersey. When a new job threatens to take Nick away from his beloved Italian grandparents, who he sees each Sunday for dinner, they begin scheming to keep him in town. “Farce of Nature”: Everett’s Reunion Theatre Group presents this comedy April 17 through 19, 24 through 26 and May 1 through 3 at the Music Hall Playhouse behind Macy’s at the Everett Mall. “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum”: This is a toga party you don’t want to miss. Sondheim satire at its best, this is the musical tale of a slave who attempts to win his freedom by helping his young master woo the girl next door. That is, if he can keep his story straight. The show features such songs as “Comedy Tonight” and “Everybody Ought to Have a Maid.” Edmonds Driftwood Players perform at 8 p.m. Thursday, Friday, Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday, April 17 through May 10 at the Wade James Theatre, 950 Main St., Edmonds. “Surf’s Up!”: This musical production by the Cavelero Mid-High School’s drama club will be performed at 6 p.m. April 17 and 3 and 6 p.m. April 18 at the school. Tickets are $5 for seniors, military and students or $7 for adults.

“Mary Poppins”: The Broadway musical will be performed with a live orchestra by the Marysville Pilchuck High School drama club at 7:30 p.m. April 23, 24, 25, 30 and May 1 and 2 in the MPHS auditiorium. Singing the hits such as “Jolly Holiday,” “Spoonful of Sugar,” and “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” are a cast of students that include Marysville Getchell teens and one Pinewood Elementary student. Sage Fairbanks is Mary, Evan Staback is Bert. Other cast members include Jessica Hamilton, Sklyar Van der Putten, Silas Hedman, Laura Koty, Sheridan Hedman, Elizabeth Price, Emmaline Savidge, Chloe Larsen, Cohleen-Raye Villejo, Melanie Stagner, Haley Ries, Victoria Willey, Emma Steele-Sierk, Kenna Goodman and Mallory Ford. Tickets, available at the door at 7 p.m., are $10 for adults and $8 for students and seniors.

Village Theatre in Everett: Tickets are on sale now for the new musical comedy “No Way to Treat a Lady,” which plays the Everett Performing Arts Center May 1 through 24. Steve Tomkins directs and RJ Tancioco, who grew up in Mountlake Terrace, is the music director. The cast includes Village Theatre favorites Nick DeSantis, Bobbi Kotula, Jessica Skerritt, Dane Stokinger and Jayne Muirhead. Also, tickets are available for “Cabaret,” which plays Everett July 10 through Aug. 2. Directed by Pulitzer prize winner Brian Yorkey, the show stars Billie Wildrick, who grew up in Snohomish, as well as other Seattle musical theater stars Brian Earp, Jason Collins, Anne Allgood and Peter Crook. “The Capitol Steps”: 7:30 p.m. April 29, Edmonds Center for the Arts, 410 Fourth Ave. N., Edmonds. This show began when a group of Senate staffers set out to satirize the people and places that employed them. Tickets are $44, $39 and $34, or $15 for students. Call 425-275-9595.

Shakespeare’s “Much Ado About Nothing”: Curtain Call Theatre Northwest presents the comedy at 8 p.m. May 1 and 2 and 2 p.m. May 3 at Rosehill Community Center, 304 Lincoln Ave., Mukilteo. Tickets, $20 general with discounts for students, seniors and military, are available at the door an hour before show time. More information at www.CCTNW.org

“Swan Lake”: Pacific Northwest Ballet’s version of the Tchiakovsky ballet, choreographed by PNB founder Kent Stowell, returns to the McCaw Hall stage through April 19. Tickets start at $30. Swan Lake presents the ultimate challenge for ballerinas, the dual role of Odette, trapped in the body of a white swan until the oath of her true love sets her free, and Odile, the “Black Swan” temptress.

Charity Dance Project and Marysville Performing Arts: The spring charity performance, “Dopamine and Novel Things,” is 4 p.m. April 19 in the PUD Auditorium, 2320 California St., Everett. The show will include dancing, clown acts and vocals by local artists and aspiring youth. All proceeds will be donated to the Cocoon House in Everett. Members of the Lakewood High School Honor Society will help with organization. Tickets are available for $11 each at the door, cash and check only.
